Chiles Lacrosse got started in the fall of 2002 when Nora Maguire, head soccer coach at Lawton Chiles High School (1999-2003) called a meeting after school to find out who might be interested in playing Lacrosse.  Roughly 140 students both boys and girls came to the meeting, and the Chiles Lacrosse program began.  The program started with both a boy’s and girl’s team.  Other than Florida State University and Maclay, Chiles was the only other school playing Lacrosse in Tallahassee.  Seth Alte, a student at FSU, was the first coach for the boy’s team and coached the team through their second season in 2003-2004. Two games were played in 2002-2003, one in Jacksonville and one at Maclay.
